Hi, I'm married to one. - Stella (MINSHULL).

I help to run this site for John and Doreen, and have noticed that there's a few people (specifically in the USA) who come across this site, reasearching their family name....

I thought I'd add this area of the site for people to post their details if they are a "MINSHULL"...

Hopefully this way, you'll all get to know a little bit more about what makes you the weird and wonderful bunch you are. ;)

I live in Bury in Lancashire UK, and have researched the Minshull's here back to the 1830's in Nantwich in Cheshire. If any one knows of any relatives in Nantwich, Manchester, Salford or Bury I may be able to help.

Wow, see my father has already visited this. Small world, eh? Here is a picture of our traditonal crest, passed down on a ring and plate since who knows when? Does anyone else have Hamilton as a middle name? This goes back in my branch to Eragom Hamilton Minshull, 982, Church Minshull. For you who didn't know, yes, we are quite a large clan. Anyone else have this distinctive middle name?

Hi Minshulls Hi Minshulls This is the family history that my father researched in the 60s in London at the National library? He also had a coat of arms framed. Agnew Mynschulff came from Germany in 1265 AD, and founded the Town of Minshull in Cheshire. The original German name Mynschluff, means "my land". Bill Minshull a retired NASA technician was also researching and phoned me a few years ago. He said he was calling all the Minshulls, he asked me about my family background as he was tracing Minshulls around the world etc. I've never really found out any more than that. My Father is in his 80s and has changed his name to Mynschulf, he's a bit crazy. My Minshull family background is from Manchester. I have 4 children and have been in Australia since 1967. Can anyone add to this story? Is it true? Does it translate correctly? Robert and Deborah Minshull Melbourne. Australia.

I've been told that my grandfather had relatives in either Bury/Bolton and their surname was Minshull. He was David Pierce born in Northop, North Wales 1907. I believe the relatives ran a market stall. Anyone out there know of this connection. We are doing the family tree and would love to 'find the link' to this family name. I'm Mark Minshull, born in Zimbabwe - thought my immediate family were the only Minshulls in Southern Africa, until I met a girl Minshull at university, who thought her family were the only Minshulls in Africa. Only when she saw my signet ring with the family crest did she believe me! My Dad is very much into tracing our roots, I will put him in touch with this site. My mum was an arachnologist, and when she died in 1992, a new species of scorpion that she described taxonomically was named after our surname in her honour.

He's traced his roots back to somewhere in North Wales. His family were mainly brought up in Hull though! The last 4 letter's of our name spell 'hull' is this a coincidence or does it have some relevance? I'll pass this site onto him.

Hello to all the Minshull FAMILY!

I was listening to Celtic music on TV tonight and felt I needed more...to find out more. I am the daughter of Alfred Earl Minshull, born 8.13.25. His father, my Grandfather, was Alfred Minshull (Born 7.25.1894) and married Jenny Marie Henrickson(Born 11.09.1894) on April 12, 1913 in St. Paul, Nebraska. They had 9 children. My father is deceased, but has sisters living. Please let me know if I can help with our Minshull Family Tree...I do know someone who can help. I also have information on the migration of the Minshull Clan (my family) if anyone is interested. Take care and thank you for being a Minshull...we are good people! Hello to all. I think I'm distantly a Minshall, my fathers paternal grandmother was Ada Minshall, one of four children born to John Minshall (b. 1851) and Annie Farr (b. 1861). John was one of TEN children of Joseph Minshull (b. 1822, d. 1878) and Mary Saunders (b. 1823). My source for some of this information was another Minshall in Suffolk, who informs me that in the 16th century the Minshulls were big landowners in Cheshire, but backed the Royalists in the Civil War and lost the lot. I'm currently compiling a family history, and the Minshulls are a bit of an unknown at the moment, so if anyone can confirm any of this, or let me know details of Joseph or Mary's parents, I'd be grateful. Also, if anyone wants to know more about what I've found, I'll have a pdf of the Minshull/Minshall tree very soon, and I'll happily send it through, or posit it here.
